A Simple Amish Christmas by Vannetta Chapman review 58

Annie was homesick for her Amish family. Her nursing studies finished, Christmas season coming...The city seemed crass, artificial, empty. Then came the phone call from home...her father injured, she was needed at home. Everything moved so quickly.
Once she was home, things seemed dire. Her father unconscious, why wasn't he in the hospital? Samuel said he would be OK at home, but didn't trust her to nurse him. Who was he to treat her so disrespectfully? Grumpy and ill mannered is what he was! Samuel thought he had become used to being alone. Since his wife and child had died, he had settled down to his life as a solitary farmer and healer. What had happened to little Annie to make her so different? Life never turns out quite like we expect...the same holds true for Annie and Samuel.
